MARY CUDMORE BOWL

Royal Adelaide was delighted to send the following two teams to Naracoorte to compete in the Mary Cudmore Bowl.

Team 1 – Annabel Blanch, Virginia Angove, Leonie Hall
Team 2 – Sonia Ferrari, Amelia Porter, Deb Susman

The Royal Adelaide teams descended on a very warm Naracoorte from various directions where they enjoyed getting to know each other away from the golf club and were looking forward to competing in the Mary Cudmore Bowl which first commenced in 1998.

The event commenced with a welcome drinks and canapes on the Tuesday evening with speeches from President Jenny Castine and Captain Felicity Miles. Wednesday was the inaugural Julie Koch event, Julie was a member of the much loved member of the community and Naracoorte Golf Club.  The event was won by Susie Mort of Naracoorte Golf with 43 points, Virginia Angove from Royal Adelaide found the course to her liking playing very well for a score of 36 points and Sonia Ferrari of Royal Adelaide won the NTP.

Somewhat concerningly a raging bushfire was just north of the golf club with planes and junior Elvis buzzing overhead for hours.

Thursday saw the playing of the main event, The Mary Cudmore Bowl, local nine time champion Jill Williams had the best score of the day, 41 points. Pauline Cudmore, daughter of Mary Cudmore presented the trophy to the wining team from Penola (2nd year running) with 105 points.  Congratulations to Deb Susman who finished second on a countback in B Grade, the team of Sonia Ferrari, Amelia Porter and Deb Susman were the best placed Royal Adelaide team finishing 5th with a team total of 90 points.
