TUESDAY 19TH SEPTEMBER 2023

This year’s Charity Day will be held on Tuesday 19th September in support of MumKIND. Established in 2014, MumKIND materially supports women, girls and children across South Australia facing adversity. In addition, they collaborate with other groups and charities to deliver special projects, particularly on special occasions such as Christmas and Mother’s Day. Visit the MumKIND website for more information.

On Charity Day, players compete for the Sue Butterworth Trophy. Sue Butterworth joined RAGC in 1967. She served on committee in 1978/79, handicap manager in 1985/86 and a Vice President in 2004/5. After her death in 2010 her family donated a trophy to be presented at the Annual Meeting to the winner of a ‘Charity Day’ established in her honour. The name of the runner up is also recorded on the trophy. Because Sue generously donated to charity, the Committee of the day decided to establish the Charity Day in her honour.

The competition fee of $25 and all raffle profits will be donated in full to MumKIND. Tickets for the raffle (1 for $5 or 3 for $10) will be available from the raffle stand in the breezeway from 7.30am on the day. No cash is required as all donations will be charged to member accounts. If you cannot attend, raffle tickets may be purchased by calling Larissa in the office on 8356 5511.

The event’s working party has secured a wonderful selection of prizes for the raffle including:
$450 voucher for the Royal Adelaide pro shop
2-night stay at the Warden’s Victor Harbor holiday home
Meal voucher for the Star of Greece restaurant, Port Willunga
Haigh’s Chocolates hamper
Gift basket from Erindale Papershop
Fresh Fruiterers Erindale vouchers
Lolli Golf Wear vouchers and apparel
One Rundle Trading gift basket
Dillons book voucher
… and more

The raffle will be drawn at approximately 2.30pm on Tuesday 19th September. Raffle winners will be personally notified and provided with collection information.

Golf prizes will be awarded to the winner and runner up in each grade with the best overall score to also win the Sue Butterworth Trophy. Nearest to pin and longest drive prizes will be awarded for each grade. As there will be no formal presentation – winners will be informed by email at the close of competition.
