HOLES IN ONE

Congratulations to James Norcock and Anne Arnfield on their respective holes in one this week.

Playing number 1 for the Bonnar Cup team on Sunday, James was 1 down in his match standing on the 12th tee at North Adelaide. While not a long hole, precision from the tee is required to avoid the surrounding bunkers which had already resulted in a number of plugged lies for earlier matches. A perfectly struck 9 iron from James landed very close to the pin, took one bounce, a bit of side spin and rolled straight into the hole! His opponent did not match James’ shot and they headed to the 13th tee all square. To add insult to injury (for his opponent), James followed his hole in one by draining a 30-foot birdie putt on the 13th hole and proceeded to win his match 2/1.

This week, Anne travelled to Barwon Heads with Ali White and Vicki Jordan to represent Royal Adelaide at Marrum Cup week. Playing on Tuesday in the Bramerton Cup, Anne aced the 120-metre 4th hole and was presented with a hole in one certificate and the nearest to pin prize at presentations. Anne will pair with Vicki in the Max Bell Foursomes on Wednesday, and will team up with Vicki and Ali on Thursday for the Marrum Cup.

Well done Anne and James!
