DRESS REGULATIONS
All members, guests and visitors are required to maintain a standard of dress in keeping with the vision and character of The Royal Adelaide Golf Club. The General Manager and their delegates are authorised to strictly enforce the dress regulations.
Members must ensure their guests are familiar with these regulations.
The standards of dress which apply in various areas of the Club’s premises are as follows:
ON CLUB’S PREMISES
NOT PERMITTED:
Tracksuits, track tops, leggings and activewear; denim clothing of any colour; torn clothing; football or rugby team jumpers, sweatshirts, hooded clothing, t-shirts, singlets; clothing bearing writing, or advertising material or slogans except for discreet brand names and club logos; cargo or drawstring shorts or trousers; trousers tucked into socks; visible tattoos that contain messages or designs that may be offensive to others (including tattoos which may be considered racist, sexist or derogatory); thongs, foam clogs (such as Crocs) or bare feet; and bare midriffs.
ON THE LINKS AND PRACTICE AREAS
Neat, clean golfing attire must be worn.
Shirts must have collars. Golf turtleneck shirts or skivvies are acceptable.
Golf shoes must be worn. Unless expressly permitted, shoes not designed as golf shoes (including sneakers, running shoes and sandshoes) are not permitted.
Socks must be worn. Socks must be predominantly white. Long socks must be pulled up. Socks must be at least at the shoe line.
Caps must be worn facing forward.
MEN AND BOYS:
Shorts and trousers must be tailored and worn with a belt. Shirts must be tucked in.
Brief, baggy or below knee length shorts are not permitted.
WOMEN AND GIRLS:
Shorts or tailored trousers must not be in the nature of leggings. Shirts must be tucked in unless they are no longer than hip length, in which case they may be untucked.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
Clothing must be neat, tidy and in good repair. Subject to the requirements of the dining room, clean and dry golf attire may be worn.
MEN AND BOYS:
Shirts must be tucked in. Shirts must have collars. Smart casual covered footwear designed to be worn without socks (such as boat-shoes and moccasins) may be worn without socks.
Otherwise socks must be worn with all footwear.
WOMEN AND GIRLS:
Dress sandals or other shoes may be worn without socks.
Caps, visors and hats must be removed.
IN THE DINING ROOM
Men and boys must wear tailored trousers and a collared shirt. Attire for women and girls should be of an equivalent standard.
Sneakers, running shoes and sandshoes are not permitted.
USE OF PORTABLE ELECTRONIC DEVICES:
including mobile phones, tablets, smart watches and laptops
Members must ensure their guests are familiar with the requirements on the use of portable electronic devices (PEDs) on the Club’s premises.
ON CLUB’S PREMISES
PEDs must be switched off or on silent at all times.
ON THE LINKS AND PRACTICE AREAS
Phone and video calls must not be made or received at any time except in an emergency, or with the authorisation of the General Manager or the Committee for a special reason.
The use of a speakerphone while on a call is not permitted at any time.
PEDs may be used for scoring or for teaching purposes. Otherwise, the use of PEDs is discouraged.
IN THE CLUBHOUSE
Phone and video calls using mobile phones are not permitted except in the locker rooms, car park, library and foyer to the bridge room, in the Committee room, or with the authorisation of the General Manager or the Committee for a special reason.
Phone and video calls should be made or received discreetly and should not interfere with any other person’s quiet enjoyment of those areas.
The use of a speakerphone while on a call is not permitted in the presence of another person without their consent.
The use of mobile phones for integrated non-telephonic functions (including browsing and sharing photos, diarising and accessing the internet or other applications) is permitted except in the dining room, provided mobile phones are on silent, earphones and speakers are not used, and such use does not interfere with any other person’s quiet enjoyment of the clubhouse or the Club’s facilities.
The use of tablets and laptops is not permitted except in the locker rooms, car park, library, foyer to the bridge room, Committee room or with the authorisation of the General Manager or the Committee for a special reason.
